The Future of Emeryville

Commissioned by Wareham Development for EmeryStation West, the Future of Emeryville considers the growing biotech industry that are the tenants of the building and is painted as a surreal internal maze that weaves its way through both today’s world and tomorrowland.
My intention was for the paintings to be each other’s eloquent counterpart as one looks inward and forward as the other looks back at the past. Not only is one horizontal and the other vertical, the different color palettes used on each mural are intended to push their distinctions.
